How restall XS evolution Lexia probe On Windows 7

Here is the user experience of lexia3 PP2000 scanner ,about how to upgrade XS evolution Lexia probe On Windows 7

 

Here you are:

I have a probe XS evolution acquired in 2009 clone version Normal (not full chip, see photos attached) that had been delivered with the LEXIA software version 345.13.

I used it for several years and even upgraded to V346.01 (by mistake) from the Citroen server on a PC that was running on XP.

I no longer have a PC in XP, this probe has always brought me satisfaction, so I want to proceed to a soft re-installation on a PC dedicated to the diag and who has already can clip, PC running Windows 7 32 Bits,

– My Lexia 345.13 soft distribution certainly does not turn on windows 7, should I install Diagbox?

– Can my old probe work with recent versions of diagbox?

– Can there be a problem of firmware version, firmware / diagbox incompatibility?

– I have no idea of ​​the firmware version of the probe that I have, How can I identify it?

I have now completed the installation of Diagbox 7.02, the installation proceeded normally according to the detailed procedure here

 

Small comment at the end of the installation of diagbox 7.02, the directory C: APPLI containing the PSA Interface Checker had disappeared without explanation.

At the first launch of Diagbox, updates were made automatically and the firmware of the probe was also updated.

it seems to me that a V4.3.0 should work with Diagbox 7.0.2 so not a problem of incompatibility, and even if this probe remains a version B it should work without requiring flashing version C XS Evolution.

I want to add that the diag test was done on the same vehicle as before the migration and that my VCI was in perfect working order before migration on Windows 7 + Diagbox + Update firmware probe. I unfortunately cannot afford to check it to remove the doubt of a hardware pb,

Another observation that may be important. PSA Interface Search in serial number: “963830 B /” followed by several spaces and end of line “PEUGEOT”.

Could it be that I do not have serial number on this probe?

 

Question followed:

As you have been advised above: You have to change the bootloader (and at the same time the serial content in the SPI) of your microphone so that the probe is recognized with an “evolving” driver: for that two methods is that of nlc is the direct flash by the 2x6pts connector on the micro card (and the universal programmer for the SPI)

For the first method: you have to find (on the web) the firmware of nlc non nominatif …. hush !!!!!

For the second method: you have to find the file of the microphone and that of the SPI as well as a prog for the microphone MB90F and a universal prog for the SPI (to unsolder or to flash on card with a clip SOIC).

That’s for short … it will allow you to remove any doubt about a compatibility problem with DIAGBOX and then lean on a possible hardware problem.

 

Answer:

Thanks for this confirmation of the only issue and need to migrate in evolution mode with upgrade bootloader and SN.

Not that I do not feel like implementing the Hard N ° 2 method that you describe, the solution N ° 1 NLC mode seems much faster to implement with a risk of success rate reduced, I will continue this way.

FYI, however, I managed to run my VCI and lead a diag by forcing the firmware in V4.2.4 (prior to V4.2.8) and prohibiting diagbox 7.02 update the firmware of the probe at startup.

The VIN is then recognized and LEXIA turns for diagnosis.

The stability of communication does not seem at the top, however, I had crashes that I attribute to a situation a little wobbly from a point of view coherence between USB driver of the VCI (bootloader), the Firwmare V4.2.4 and not V4.3.0 as expected by Diagbox 7.0.2, however, I can not consider this situation as stable.

At Minima it gives me the indication that my hardware is OK.

  1. Vote IDS/SDD and a genuine or clone Mongoose cable:

By far the best is getting IDS/SDD and a genuine or clone Mongoose cable for programming modules.

 

The i930 gets good reviews but I’m not keen. Mine wiped the configuration of the ABS/DSC module just when clearing a fault code and needed re-calibrating with IDS.

I’ve also noticed many live readings are way off, in fact just about anything measured in degrees are many, many times out on my 2001 car.

 

  1. Vote SDD :

My iCarsoft LR V2.0 doesn’t seem to work correctly on anything pre 2005/6 that would use Ford/Jaguar IDS.

Seems ok on later cars that would use SDD, although as others have mentioned, not sure you can rely on the live readings. Worse is iCarsofts seeming lack of interest in sorting this out! Although I had been happy with the old i930, iCarsoft have definitely lost a customer!

IDS/SDD is obviously best as it’s a main dealer level tool, but cloned mongoose cables are not always up to programming modules. It seems some have had problems with them in the past. It’s also not that user friendly. I run V131 on a stand alone XP pro lap top & have a seemingly good clone mongoose that has never caused me any issues. I ALWAYS connect a good battery charger/power supply to the car when doing anything more than basic diagnostics, as the constant ignition on/off cycles that are often required will soon pull even the best battery down, & that’s when problems arise. Best to have the lap top running on mains electric also to remove the risk of it’s battery getting low & shutting things down half way through a session.

 

  1. Those who have both iCarsoft i930 and SDD with Mongoose cable:

Having both, the i930 is OK, but lacking in many features and the live data is next to useless on my 2001 V6.

IDS/SDD is great to have once you’ve got it working, but awkward to use and was a real pain to setup. I’m a one man band IT support company and it took me days to get a version up and running on an old laptop running XP Pro.

SDD with cloned mongoose cables is better than iCarsoft i930

They do offer a cheaper alternative, but by their own admission, it is made in a different factory to a lower quality, make sure their item number is SP205, not SP205-B. For the software, V130 or V131 seem good stable options & provide full diagnostics & when combined with the SPA files support programming all modules, ignore the later versions supplied with the cable, they often seem to be accompanied by a few bugs! & do not support off line programming (You will need the supplied driver files for the cable or will need to download them). Alternatively, the Virtual Box VMs created by themindbuddah in these very forums have received good reviews & may be an easier option.

Test reports:

Confirmed that the Mongoose cable from obdexpress.co.uk works fine. I downloaded V130 using the links in the stickys section and found the original driver on the Drew website. Took a while to download to my pretty ancient IBM Thinkpad with XP on it but boots up quickly now and connects to my 04 V6 S Type and another members 07 Diesel S Type with no issues.

Peugeot 2008 2017 odometer correction by OBD,here is some suggestion from cartechnology forum members:

Have one 2017 Peugeot 2008 for odometer correction, I thought I tried to do this obd as its a mobile job at customer house not in workshop. I thought it has the valeo no 3 bsi with eeprom 95320.

Tools I have are:

fvdi 2018

Blue digiprog 3 clone

Green obdstar h108 psa

obdstar x300m

 

Working tools and method advice:

  1. SMOK UHDS with the PSA Module will do it.

In real: expensive and don't have.

 

  1. xtool bsi obd and clocks by epprom adapter only tested

 

  1. I do that model with UPA programmer, in any order but when I connect modules back, I always connect bsi first and then dash.

 

I dont trust in obd2 tools

 

  1. You can read eeprom by digiprog and export dump to PC if your tool ftdi based ,

Otherwise Post screenshot of area's 0x3a0 and 0x3b0 so we will provide you bytes where need to change

Bsi should be corrected with same value as well , it should be Valeo Bsi with eeprom 95256
