How to install GDS2 software on VMware Player

GDS2 VMWare installation tips and guides for newbies:
Install the VM player as admin (right click on it and select run as admin).
Once have vm player installed on your machine, forget all about the VM player app start icon, since you not going to use it, since the xp version it has set up under it, will not work with nothing else but GDS2 software.
Now copy the GDS2 folder from the disc, to somewhere on your drive (folder and the files in it).
Now in that GDS2 folder you just copied to your hard drive, your going to right click on the VM.vmx file inside that folder and select to open it with Vm player app (selected from programs from the list).
If you want a icon to click on to open the GDS2 program via VM player without having to go into the folder each time, do a copy on the VM.vmx file via the right click method, go over to your desk top, do a right click paste of it there to make a short cut, do another click on the shortcut icon you just pasted into desk top, go down to rename, and just change the shortcut name to GSD2. Now when you click on the new icon named GSD2 you just made, it will open up GDS2 in the vm player.
If you want the icon in the start drop down menu, then right click on it again, and select pin to start menu (classic in my case, since I run classic shell since windows 8).
Hence you don't start the GDS2 program by clicking on VM player, but by clicking on the vm.vmx file in the program, with it desinated to be opened up via VM player instead. Note if you do the GDS2 shortcut icon, make sure that is selected to open up with VM player as well.
Note that SPS functions are exist with Global Tis! GDS2 haven't SPS, just for only diagnostic procedures.

That little short list is incorrect and only shows a few of the earlier than 2007 CAN bus vehicles.

I’ve used my Tech2 on my 08 many times for troubleshooting not programming
But I think it should be able to program Hummer.
Anyone has good success of Hummer H3?
My H3 has had a CEL on – po452. I checked it with the tech 2. Well it pulls 3 codes, po455 (large evap leak), po442 (small evap leak), and po449 (vent solenoid control).
Tech 2 is possible to program for Hummer H2 above the year 2007… what to do in that case?
Actually it does the programming just fine on newer than 2007 GM vehicles BUT you must pay for an ACDelco TDS subscription for vehicles above 2007 and you would use the CANDI module that comes with many of the Tech2’s for working with CAN bus vehicles. You can subscribe for it.
This is ONLY needed if you want to program or update the software in a module. ALL of the build in diagnostics and testing for vehicles up to 2013 works without the subscription or the older TIS2000 software. You only need those for doing actual programming. The older TIS2000 software – that is what has the programming was discontinued in 2007. TIS2000 does have the actual programming for all vehicles up to 2007. After 2007 GM went to the TDS system.
You can also get a newer style MDI or MDI 2 for diagnostics and programming. The catch with those. They have NO screen or built in software and you must pay for a subscription from from ACDelco TDS to use an MDI.
Other brand units, a very select few can do actual programming and use the pass-through method. NONE have the diagnostics that the actual Tech2 scanner or MDI interface (with the subscription) will have. Check with Autel and see if they have the full diagnostics and re-calibration for the rear air suspension on a Hummer H2. Not going to happen, there is too little demand for them to hack and reverse engineer that particular bit of code in a Tech2 to figure out the diagnostics and then write programming for that for their tool.

Will try 458 with Digiprog 3. Your thoughts?
Once did a 458 with Digiprog 3.
Someone doubt that DP3 can do this. But for me, it works! Though it is a clone, but the software is same as original tool.
The tools only needs to read the EEPROM, we know Digiprog can do this for many other cars without problem, so if it reads the correct mileage so I don’t see much risk.
But the mileage is also in the ECU of Ferrari.
Anyone got experience of China clone Digiprog on Ferrari?

Digiprog says it can do over obd, but i have a hard time to believe it does 2012 Ferrari 458. Any professional or official can help confirm this?

La principale différence entre ICDG mb et VVDI mb est que, une vieille Mercedes, ICDG mb est loveable à programmer OBD une nouvelle clé alors que vous devez démonter EIS pour ajouter une nouvelle clé avec l'outil VVDI mb. Voilà pourquoi vous devriez avoir un programmeur pour ICDG mb.
Avec VVDI Mo, vous devriez acheter VVDI prog trop, parce que sont des demandes et UCE que vous ne pouvez pas faire avec MB outil indépendamment. Par exemple , certains de revendication W210 ou Sprinter 906. Vous devez avoir à la fois, VVDI MB Tool and VVDI prog. Ou, si vous devez acheter outil nouveau, Simon Touch est le meilleur, mais son plus cher.
Mais si vous avez un MB ICDG, vous avez une chance de programmer une nouvelle clé par OBD. Tout est fait avec un outil. C'est la raison pour laquelle je l'ai acheté.
